Traditional Custodians: Wurundjeri people of the Kulin Nation
Location: Malvern, Victoria
Floor Area/Land Area: 308 sqm/618 sqm
Set within a leafy inner-suburban context, this project reimagines an Edwardian home as a contemporary family residence, one that respects its heritage origins while confidently addressing the needs of modern living. The transformation seeks to deliver a home that combines architectural rigour, thoughtful planning, and bespoke interiors within a highly desirable location.
The Edwardian home was celebrated and restored. A new addition at the rear houses the amenities and living spaces required for a contemporary family lifestyle.
Materiality plays a central role in connecting past and present. Masonry walls, handmade tiles, and custom light fittings by local makers reinforce a sense of permanence and care, echoing the robustness of the heritage home while expressing a refined, contemporary language. The result is a house that feels grounded and enduring.
